Due to last night’s (8/10/21) inclement weather. The city has created a contact form on the website to report fallen trees/yard debris in the street or right-of-way. Click here to submit a form. Should there be a tree in the street or right-of-way, do NOT attempt to clear those on your own. Be patient as crews are working diligently on cleanup.
The City of New Berlin will respond to tree emergencies and will remove the hazard and any part of the tree that is an immediate risk to public safety. Tree emergencies only exist when they pose a hazard in the public rights of way or City owned lands, not private property. Other parts of the tree that don't pose an immediate risk (such as tree trunks and stumps) will be removed at a later time so our crews can focus on other safety hazards around the City.
Debris on private property is the responsibility of the owner. The City is unable to assist/cleanup fallen trees unless it is in the areas as described above. Residents are welcome to bring cleaned up debris to the Recycling Center, click here to view the dates/times of the extended hours.
Exercise caution and treat any wire on the ground as if it is live. Should a tree be on an electrical wire, contact We Energies Immediately at 1-800-665-4797 or submit a report through their app.
If you have any questions please contact City Hall at 262-786-8610 or email, clerksoffice@newberlin.org
