The next Decennial Census will be taken in the year 2020, and for the first time, residents will be able to respond online, by phone or by mail. The Census provides vital information for our communities: it determines how many representatives each state gets in Congress and helps Communities plan for new roads, schools and emergency services and also assists businesses in planning for local jobs and places to shop and do business.
The City of New Berlin recognizes the importance of the 2020 Census and has therefore established a Complete Count Committee in partnership with the US Census Bureau.The committee includes, but is not limited to, representation from the Media, the New Berlin Chamber of Commerce, Education, the Public Library and all City Departments. The role of each member is to utilize all means available to advertise the Census to their respective audiences in an effort to inform, motivate, and educate the city's residents to the necessity and importance of the rapid response and 100% participation in the Census 2020.
Mayor Dave Ament encourages all residents to respond either online, by phone or by mail to the 2020 Census in the Spring of 2020.
