Posted on: June 11, 2019[ARCHIVED] Mayor Ament Announces Winner of 22nd Annual John W. Bauer Award for Municipal Excellence
On June 4, 2019, Mayor Dave Ament presented city employee, Thomas Sievert, with the 22nd Annual John W. Bauer Award for Municipal Excellence. Tom Sievert has worked for the City of New Berlin for over 10 years and serves as a City Patrol Worker and Fabricator.
Tom’s projects as a fabricator have included, but are not limited to, truck modifications, ambulance enhancements, tool racks, guardrails and specialty tools. He fabricated the “Farmer’s Market” metal signage for the New Berlin Chamber’s Farmers Market, designed and sandblasted the cement logos found at Malone Park and City Center, and also utilized his woodworking skills on the lighting project found on Library Lane and Michelle Witmer Dr. His skills have provided significant cost-savings to the City throughout these many years.
“Tom’s talent and creativity are evident throughout the City. As a fabricator, Tom has definitely made his mark in New Berlin. His work ethic and positive attitude reverberates across all our City departments. I wish to personally thank Tom for his fine craftsmanship, inventiveness and vision.” stated Mayor Dave Ament. “Tom has contributed much to our organization and we are proud to have him amongst our ranks.”
