Press Release - BC Vacancy 2022 (002)

New Berlin, Wisconsin – Mayor Dave Ament is seeking a volunteer to fill vacancies on the following Boards and Commissions: 

  • Fourth of July Commission. This commission arranges and conducts appropriate ceremonies, parades, programs and firework displays for the City’s outstanding Fourth of July festivities.  Each summer Malone Park hosts the City’s annual carnival, concessions, games, bands, bingo and more.  Get involved and be a part of the group that makes it all happen!   The group consists of up to 11 citizen members, an alderman, and the 4th of July Coordinator.  Be a part of the team that brings this festival to life! Meetings are held monthly throughout the year.  


  • Landmarks Commission: The mission of the New Berlin Landmarks Commission is to serve the people of City as stewards of historic districts, and to develop historical, cultural, social, political and economic interest in our community. Continuation of our heritage for current and future generations is accomplished through the perpetuation and use of historic districts, and by educating the citizenry and fostering in them a deep sense of civic pride in the beauty and noble accomplishments of the past and present. This commission meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

 

  • Safety Saturday Committee:  This committee is responsible for the coordination and organization of the City’s Safety Saturday annual event held the third Saturday of each May.  In addition, the Committee provides recommendations regarding the best methods and practices in assisting and advising the Police Department and Citizens of New Berlin regarding personal safety, security, crime trends and crime prevention. The committee consists of ten citizen members, two of which may be high school student citizens of the City of New Berlin, an Alderman, and a New Berlin Police Officer. This committee meets the third Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Public Safety Building on 163rd and National Avenue.
