Any handicapped person who feels discriminated against within the City of New Berlin can file a written complaint with the mayor. The mayor will review the complaint and provide a decision within 10 business days of receipt of the complaint.
If the complaint is not resolved to the satisfaction of the persons submitting the claim, then an appeal can be submitted to the Handicapped Persons Appeal Committee within 10 business days. This committee consists of the mayor, the Common Council president, and an alderman appointed by the mayor.
Meetings of the Handicapped Persons Appeal Committee are held as needed.
