| Mayor's Duties & Responsibilities |

- Provides and fulfills chief executive officer responsibilities for the City.
- Exercises all of the executive powers on behalf of the municipality.
- Acts as presiding officer at Common Council Meetings.
- Chairs or participates in various boards, commissions, and committees.
- Supervises and directs day-to-day operations of City Government to "take care that City ordinances and State laws are observed and enforced and that all city offices and employees discharge their duties." (State Statutes 62.09(8)a)
- Appoints citizens to various boards, commission, and committees.
- Executes all municipal financial and contractual obligations.
- Prepares executive budget for recommendations to Common Council.
- Conducts investigations into matters relating to the affairs of the City and recommends action to the Common Council.
